Rehearse and Perform a Challenging Play in a Week
Performing is an amazing experience . . . but the time commitment of being in a play can eat your summer alive. Our intensive takes the entire rehearsal process and distills it into a single week of afternoons. You'll prepare a fully-staged one-act play that will challenge you as a performer, then perform it for family and friends. Keep your acting skills sharp without signing your summer away in our Young Adult Theatre Intensive!
This camp is open to actors who have previously performed in at least two plays (at school or elsewhere). Our intensive program is not designed for beginners.
This Summer's Play: The Gambler
High school senior Reese Donnelly has her life all mapped out. She'll major in computer science at Stanford, then launch her career at Google before going on to change the world and make bank. But one evening at a boring party, Reese joins a poker game that changes everything. Before the night is over, Reese finds herself in jail with her whole future in jeopardy. Whose fault is it that her life went up in smoke -- and was she chasing the right future after all? The Gambler examines our ambitions, our friendships, and the way that forces beyond our control shape them both. Note that our play contains mature themes and language, and is subject to change based on enrollment.
