Rehearse and Perform a Challenging Play in 2 Weeks

Performing is an amazing experience . . . but the time commitment of being in a play can eat your summer alive. Our intensive takes the entire rehearsal process and distills it into just two weeks of mornings. You'll prepare a fully-staged one-act play that will challenge you as a performer, then present it for family and friends. Keep your acting skills sharp without signing your summer away in our Young Adult Theatre Intensive!

This program is open to actors who have previously performed in at least two plays (at school or elsewhere). Our intensive is not designed for beginners.

This Summer's Play: Grow Up

Hester sings in the elite jazz choir at school. She's thrilled to be there . . . but everybody else wishes she'd go away, including the teacher. Hester is absolutely clueless about how to relate to other humans. Still, is that enough reason for the choir to treat her like something that crawled in and died? Hester believes everybody's out to get her. As the choir heads for their spring competition at Jazz Fest, they face uncomfortable questions about how to treat people who are impossible to like. Who's to blame when the creepy kid gets hurt -- and does anybody care?

No singing is required from the actors. Grow Up contains strong language and depictions of bullying. Our play is subject to change depending on enrollment.
